Call for papers

The workshop on Semigroups, Languages and Algebras will take place at Akita University, Japan, between August 7-9, 2014. The conference will be hosted by the Faculty of Science and Technology of Akita University, organized by staff members of the Mathematical Science Course

The purpose of the workshop is to bring together researchers from the abovementioned fields. The study of computer science and basic algebraic systems is interconnected, they influence each other in various ways, therefore we would like to invite contributions in semigroup theory, group theory, logic, formal languages, automata theory, universal algebra and related topics. We believe that this gathering will offer a good opportunity to share ideas, new directions of research and help initiate cooperation among participants.

The dates and location of the conference fit conveniently with other professional and cultural events in the region:

Authors are invited to submit an abstract at most one page in length, following the LNCS style. The volume of collected abstracts will be available to participants at the conference. We are planning to publish a special issue of an international journal, e.g. the International Journal of Foundations of Computer Science (IJFCS), devoted to the conference. The submission and selection procedure for this special issue will be announced after the conference.
